Annie Getsinger is a fierce advocate for her clients. A 2018 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, she has focused her practice on criminal law, juvenile matters, and guardianship/mental health commitment defense, honing her advocacy in the Office of the State Public Defender before joining Martinez & Ruby in 2022.In her time at the University of Wisconsin Law School, Annie received numerous legal awards, including the Clinical Legal Education Association Outstanding Student Award (2018), the Julie Stearns Memorial Award — For Commitment to the LGBTQ+ Community at UW Law (2018), and the Katherine Held Memorial Award — For Contributions to the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender & Society (2018).
Since her admittance to the State Bar of Wisconsin in 2018, Annie has handled hundreds of cases with results ranging from victory at jury trial to dismissal on motion practice, negotiation for dismissal, and plea negotiations aimed at meeting her clients’ goals. Annie remains committed to professional growth, and is a current member of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

She strives to approach each case with care, compassion, and communication, as well as a thorough legal analysis. A 2007 graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism, Annie’s background as a newspaper reporter has given her a keen eye for detail.
Annie considers herself extremely lucky to have earned the trust of her clients. When she’s not working, Annie is probably working — or traveling, trying new restaurants, or enjoying the outdoors with her four rescue dogs.
